Summary of Unit A brief snapshot, as if
someone asked you to
briefly and clearly
describe the intent of the
lesson or project.
This project will allow the students to summarize, and retell in their own words, a novel that was read in class. They will use the program Photostory3 for their project. This way the students will not only use their words, but pictures and narration as well. In doing so, the students integrate technology, reading, writing, art and oral fluency.

•There are many standards incorporated in this lesson. The main ones that are focused on throughout are: •Writing •Concept 5: Literary Response •PO 2. The student will write a book report that identifies the: •main idea, characters, setting, events, conflict and resolution •Reading •Concept 1: Elements of Literature •PO 1. The student will identify the components of a plot •PO 4. The students will analyze how a character’s traits influence that character’s actions.Technology- Use prescribed technology tools for publishing and presenting information PO 2. Create a multimedia product with support from teachers, family or student partners-Publish and present information using technology tools PO 1. Design and create a multimedia presentation or Web page using multiple digital
